Candidate for Grand Master 2027-2028

Brother Ara Malazian was born in Inglewood, CA to Gary & Diana Malazian.  Bro. Ara grew up with two brothers, Aaron and Armen Malazian.

Bro. Ara attended the Armenian Mesrobian School from Pre-Kindergarten through High School.  Mesrobian is also where Bro. Ara met his future wife, Ava Baghdassarian.

Bro. Ara attended the University of California, Irvine where he double majored in Psychology & Economics.  Upon graduation, Bro. Ara went to work for Thomas Bros. Maps for two years before returning to college for a graduate degree.  After completing a Master’s Degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology at California State University, Long Beach Bro. Ara married his High School sweetheart and began a career in the Financial Services.

Bro. Ara holds several securities licenses including the Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, Series 63 and Series 65.  In 2000 Ara earned his Certified Financial Planner® certification and has been providing comprehensive Financial Planning services for business and individuals including investments, insurance planning, estate planning and group benefits (health insurance and retirement plans) ever since.

Bro. Ara has two beautiful daughters who he is very proud of (if you don’t believe it, just ask him about them).

In 2017 Ara’s marriage to Ava ended and they went their separate ways.

Today, Ara continues to run his Financial Planning practice in Santa Ana, CA and is an Adjunct Professor at U.C. Irvine preparing the next generation of Financial Planners for the challenges ahead.
